Unique modern home design : Moebius home is the family unit house in Sydney, Australia, that faces onto panoramas of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Designed home by architects Tony Owen Partners, Moebius home researches elastic home design with small changes to design measures, a more environmentally sensitive form of design known as ‘micro design’. Micro design utilises parametric modelling software which can respond to really small changes to design input measures. The specific form is a response to the requirements to maintain view and solar corridors. Tony Owen Architects started by responding to the internet site with a series of movements which folded up and twisted the space in order to maximise the modifies of degree, view opportunities and potentiality for connectivity to external spaces at various ground airplanes. They made a dynamic model capable of responding to changes in these variables and allowed the modelings to run in real time. The architects and then stopped the model when they felt they had a example which satisfied their interests. The home has a fluidity of space which is a direct result of getting a strong family relationship with the surrounding landscape design home. Due to the complex geometry of this home and the need for such good tolerances, we’d to evolve a totally new system of assembly and fabrication for this home which a lot of closely resembled that of a motor and car.
